SCA Coffee Diploma Fastrack

Achieving the SCA Coffee Diploma takes time, investment and committment, but if your aren't short of either of those it is possible to achieve the Diploma in under 6 months. This of course would be very intense and in order to be successful we would of course recommend that you are at least working part time in a coffee shop environment and / or have access to all the necessary equipment at home allowing you to practice what you have learned on a regular basis. You should also be quite acedemic and have the ability to take in and absorb lots of information in a short space of time. You will need to do lots of reading in your own time too. Be under no illusion, this is a lot of work in potentially a short space of time.

You can complete the Diploma at your leisure so you could aim to take a little longer if you like, whatever suits your personal circumstances.

What can it lead to?

Of course, the more modules you complete the more employable you are, but also, the more knowledge you will have to perhaps open your own coffee shop, manage a coffee shop, run a coffee roastery or both, become a Q Grader, travel the world as a green coffee buyer visiting and building relationships with coffee farmers - there really are lots of employment opportunities in coffee.

Here's an example how the Diploma can be achieved in a short time frame;

You need to acheive 100 points.

Week 1;

Introduction to Coffee: half day - 10 points

Barista Skills Foundation: full day - 5 points
